At home therapy is difficult for those with autism, especially during the current times. Many parents of children with autism don’t have the proper material and guidance to provide effective at-home therapy to match their child’s abilities and needs. We know that therapy is only effective when it is continuous and that's why we created AUesome.
AUesome’s goal is to simplify the at-home therapy process for parents of children with autism by combining a physical “play kit” with an online e-learning platform that serves as an accompanying training tool for the activities in the kit.
These kits give parents easy access to a variety of training tools & techniques without having to scour the internet.
We are currently is the process of user testing our communication and motor skills kit. In our current stage, we offer a kit with hands-on therapy activities personalized based on the child's abilities. On our website, we have videos to train the parents and children how to do the therapy activities and why they are useful.
We aim to raise $2,500 to expand our outreach and get our kits in the hands of more children with autism in need of at-home therapy. We will use these donations to get these kits out to parents. AUesome has provided thousands of therapy activites to families and organizations, and will be providing free kits this summer using the money we fundraise.
Currently, ABA therapy for children with autism can cost around $80,000 a year. While we don't aim to replace ABA therapy, we believe our kits will serve as a useful continuation of ABA therapy at home and will only cost $15 to help reduce extra costs for parents during this difficult time and beyond.
