Hello to all Friends and Supporters of Graigue Ballycallan GAA Club.
We hope you have all remained safe and well through this unprecedented year.
We are delighted to have our players both juvenile and adult back on the pitch, enjoying what they do best playing hurling. It has been a tough time for everyone but we all agree that it's great to be back. Competitive hurling began on Saturday 25th July with a victory for our Junior A team and all going well will continue throughout August and September for both Adult and Juvenile.
The new norm has added many changes to the day to day running of the club. To protect the health and welfare of our players, officials and supporters, the numbers attending games has been restricted (government guidelines) and extensive preventative measures have been introduced (e.g. sanitizing stations).
The club will be live streaming our senior matches to enable as many supporters as possible to view the match live.
As you are aware due to Covid-19 restrictions we have had to cancel many of our annual fundraisers which we have depended on down the years to pay the bills (Forecast, Family Fun Day & Lotto). We will continue to sell the Hurlers Co-Op Draw tickets which have been reduced to €25 for 2 draws.
We have decided to set up this Go Fund Me page to allow our friends and supporters far and wide to support the ongoing daily activities of the club which cost approx. €1,500 per week.
We have taken the opportunity during the pitch closure to continue work on our Development Project with the refurbishment of the Dressing Rooms including some legacy issues and on site painting. Development works completed to date also include new ball stopping nets, new club room roof and a new lawn mower.
All support is greatly appreciated in these difficult times.
