Damsel's 2nd Chance

Damsel has had a rough life. When Dogs Are Deserving Rescue pulled her from Chicago Animal Care and Control in January, she was trembling in her crate - definitely a damsel in distress! In the month that followed, she was re-homed three times. She was miserable, fearful, and needed stability by the time she came to my home in February. My daughter and I adored her, and less than two months later, we became foster fails.


Damsel is incredibly loyal and adores her family. I promised her that I'd never give up on her, and that's what's led me to create this Go Fund Me page. 

She needs some extensive training - more like rehabilitation - after a very serious incident forced me to surrender her back to the rescue. We are heartbroken and are struggling to process the grief. Damsel's humans have all failed her and she deserves a second chance.

The rescue has been overwhelmed since the pandemic hit, and I want to do all I can to ensure that Damsel is able to get the rehabilitation she needs so that she can be successful when she finds her true furever home.

All money received will go directly to those providing Damsel's rehabilitation. This is a fluid situation, given that the rescue is currently searching for a new foster and that this new foster may not be in proximity to her current trainers (Bark University in Mundelein, IL as of August 4th).


I am happy to provide evidence of all money transfers by request. Any funds received that exceed Damsel's rehabilitation/training costs will be transferred to Dogs Are Deserving Rescue . If you would rather donate to the rescue directly, please ask them to apply it to Damsel's expenses.
