Young Artist Scholarships

Donation protected
Leaves of Grass Learning Center is offering online after school art and creative writing enrichment classes for students 5th-12th grade. LGLC will provide a safe learning community, one-on-one teacher support, and fun interactive lessons for students feeling isolated and needing creative outlets during this difficult time.

We need funding by August 27th, when classes start. However, we will continue to accept donations through September. After that we will begin fundraising for the Spring term.

We will have guest artist teachers and students from California, Oregon, Brazil, to Sweden participating. LGLC will work with families in any time zone. The classes will culminate in a virtual art show and students will also have the opportunity to be published in our journal. Our teachers have years of experience working with "at risk" youth, inspiring them to have creativity in their lives and building their confidence!

Although, the pricing for after school classes is set low, we know that there are families and students who would benefit from this program and have financial needs. This is why we are working hard to get donors to sponsor young artists.

We are accepting donations in any amount. And if you would like to provide a full term learning opportunity for a student or family with multiple young artists, here are the full term prices:

Weekly After School classes-
Daily
$29 per week for 20 weeks (Total of $580 for Fall 2020 Term)

Family Package  Two or more students-
$43 per week for 20 weeks (Total of $860 for Fall 2020 Term)

Private Instruction 1 hr weekly
$45 per week for 20 weeks
(Total of $900 for Fall 2020 Term)

We hope to be able to get donations to support (at a minimum) 57 families this fall! A scholarship committee will review applications on a first come first serve basis. At LGLC we believe that fine art, creative writing, and community design education is a privilege that young artists from any background should have access to!

All donations of $25 + will qualify you to pick out a free LGLC tee shirt designed by one of our teachers on our Threadless shop (more designs arriving soon! https://www.threadless.com/@leavesofgrasslc). Donors of full term packages will also be mentioned in our end of term journal publication and can receive a free journal copy filled with young artists work.  Please contact us if you are interested in being an LGLC sponsor and we can work with you to feature your organization on our website in exchange for large contributions.

Everyone at LGLC appreciates your support and your contribution towards helping young students thrive during one of the most challenging school years of their lives!
