Hey Everyone! I have finally decided to ask because I could really use your help. I have found a way to keep the majority of the trash, boats and bus left on the property out of the landfill as well as finding ways to repurpose materials, repair the dome and heal the land. It has taken a lot of effort to get where I am and while I still have a way to go, I can see the end in sight and maybe with a little help from my friends and community I can make this space something we will all be proud of sooner than later and in the process put money back into the local economy.
I am fortunate to have so many local people/businesses helping me, letting me do payments on the work they have done, giving advice and in general being the definition of hope in my life. This fundraiser is as much about them as it is about me.
Here is how I hope to make this work. While clearly this is helping me to get my home and land to a place where I can live and work; the money I raise will go directly to local individuals and businesses. It will go to the places and people who are allowing me to make payments so that they can be paid in full for the work they have done. It will go to the local businesses I will use to do specialty work I don't have the knowledge base for. It will go to the individuals who take time to come work with me one on one and give me more than fair prices.
I am the luckiest most fortunate person I have ever known, asking for help has always been hard. I wanted you all to see how serious I was about cleaning up my property and making it something to be proud of. I want every person who has helped me get where I am to be proud of their choice to support me. I want anyone considering helping to know exactly how hard I will work to make them proud of their choice as well. For the first time I see a real value in asking for help because the help will spread out to so many more people in this community than just me.
A brief overview of how donations would be used:
First to pay off those businesses and individuals who are allowing me to make payments.
Second towards the continuing salvage and re-purposingof structures left on the property.
Third, to help finish the fence that will create a fully fenced and safe place for me to exercise the dogs I care for and to create a safe space for those dogs who never get the luxury of running free.
Finally, and this would mean going way over the total, any donations above and beyond will go towards getting propane connected safely as well as connecting the well and Dome repairs.
The amount I have set as a goal covers most of the first 2 items on the list. Anything above and beyond will be received with gratitude and the promise to put it right back into the community.
