Triathlon to raise funds for disabilty equipment

I have been caring for my disabled wife for many years. Recently her condition has deteriorated and we needed to build an extension on the house for accessible living. We were turned down for any grant however managed to release some equity and raise some funds and got an extension built. We now however need to raise further funds for a profiling hi/low bed and a bath hoist. Again we have been told we are not eligible for any government funding.
An ex neighbour, Dale, whom has now become a good friend, has offered to enter Outlaw X, which is a half ironman distance triathlon, in order to raise funding through sponsorship. If we can reach the target it means that my wife can give up the hospital bed where she spends most of her life and sleep in a proper bed as a married couple normally would. She will also be able to have a proper bath rather than being washed in the bed where she also eats and sleeps.
Launched in 2019 to celebrate 10 years of Outlaw, Outlaw X takes place in the magical grounds of Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire. The event provides triathletes of all ability levels to race on a truly beautiful course and finish the triathlon season on a high!
Following a 1.2m swim in Thoresby Lake, athletes will embark on a spectacular 56m ride through the north Nottinghamshire countryside before completing their epic journey with a 13.1m run through 1000 acres of unspoilt English countryside within the grounds of the historic Thoresby Park.
This year it is set to take place on the 27th September.
Dale has been training hard in between continuing to run his own business and also helping with some of the completion work on the extension. I even managed to go out for a swim with him, although I took it at a more leisurely pace :)
