For independent artists, getting that first break means everything. Whatever the medium, our creativity and passion drives us to push past our limits. It's an adventure full of near constant highs and lows where we all hope that, eventually, the effort and the long hours will pay off. With the support of Story Merchant Books, I got my break. In October 2019, the world was introduced to Elle Anderson in Shadow Game, by A.M. Adair; the first book in a three-part series.
Description of Shadow Game: Sent in by the CIA, Elle Anderson leads a small, elite team charged with destroying the most dangerous terrorist organization the world has ever known. She is intelligent, resourceful, and capable of anything, but she works in a world where emotions and distractions are unacceptable. It’s a world with no set rules and where the game is driven by will. This sometimes means acting more like the villain than the hero, because it’s the difference between life and death.
The line between good and evil is cloaked in shadow.
The end justifies the means.
And, this is just the beginning….
The action and suspense of Shadow Game is thrilling readers all over the world, and now Elle and her team are coming to the pages of graphic novels. I will be joining forces with other independent artists to bring Shadow Game to life, but we will need your help.
Developing a graphic novel takes time and money. Lack of funding is the single most brutal killer of independent dreams, and it has silenced new voices for years. With your support, we can bring new talents to the stage. All funding received through this effort will go directly to the creation (drawing, inking, lettering, etc.), packaging, advertising, and publishing efforts surrounding bringing Shadow Game to life. You will help build the portfolio of emerging talent that could launch careers, and open the door for a hero like no other.
It may sound dramatic, but supporting this effort will be life-changing for all the artists involved. This process could take six months or more, but the expenses will start almost immediately. I will post progress updates regularly, and I am happy to answer questions. Thank you in advance for your interest and support. The end result will be amazing!
