Sponsor Utila Youth to become Dive Professionals
Donation protected
Imagine you live on a tiny island whose entire economy is dependent on tourism. Covid-19 has put everyone out of a job and you're not sure how to tap into the economic resources of your home town because even when businesses reopen, becoming a dive professional is much more unaffordable for you than for visitors.
Together we're going to level the playing field and give everyone a fair chance to tap into the local economy when it picks up. We pledge to donate our time and our expertise to train 14 young, enthusiastic Hondurans to the level of Divemaster or Instructor and we need your help.
PADI has pledged to donate all the required books and digital materials so every participant has their own, proper set of current materials. College of Diving is donating the necessary logistics and the staff waiving all tuition fees. However, becoming a dive professional, there are some application and examination fees, a hard cost that's difficult for the agency to waive and high for the local participants to pay out of pocket, especially in this economic climate.
Today you have a chance to make a very real, very concrete, and very tangible difference in the direct outcome of somebody's life. Help us pay for their professional fees so that when tourism reopens, these local dive professionals are ready to apply for local jobs in the local economy while displaying stewardship for the local environment. Creating equal opportunity can sometimes be a difficult thing to do but in this case, it's very easy and very clear.
Thank you for your support!
