In Loving Memory of Mike Kalcic

In lieu of flowers the family has set up a fund for Mike’s boys to help with funeral costs and other related costs from his unexpected passing.

On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, our beloved Michael Kevin Kalcic passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 49.

Mike was born on August 16, 1970 to Frank and Joyce Kalcic. He graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1988 and attended the University of Kansas, until he decided on a career in Taxidermy. Mike had a passion for wildlife and the outdoors. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed this experience with many friends and family members, especially his sons, father, and brother. He turned his love of wildlife into a very successful, award winning Taxidermy business, Wildlife Artworks Taxidermy in 2000. Mike loved to have fun and was known for his wonderful sense of (potty) humor, always there with a quick joke or comment to make everyone laugh. He was a devoted Christian, enjoyed spending time with his family and was always there to help anyone who needed it. Soccer held a special place in his heart, especially his teammates from St John the Baptist and Bishop Ward. He was so proud to participate in the Ward soccer team of ’87 reunion game in 2016, where he resumed his position as goalkeeper.

Mike is survived by his two amazing sons, Zach and Ben, his parents, Frank and Joyce Kalcic, his brother, Jeff Kalcic (Karla), his sister, Christine Flory, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
