Ottawa - Toronto Bike Ride Fundraiser

According to a recent study at Montgomery County Public Schools, students show signs of becoming high school dropouts as early as the first grade. First-graders are twice as likely to drop out of high school if they had a grade-point average below 1.2 (which is equivalent to D or D- in the Canadian system) by the third report card of the year.
I will be riding my mountain bike from Ottawa - Toronto nonstop (450km) on September 24 to raise money for Running and Reading. This charity is a program in Start2Finish, which addresses literacy challenges facing young students in poverty, and works to change the trajectory to facilitate success. This will help at-risk youth across Canada better prepare for the fall term with school supplies, support, or whatever they need in order to be successful.
I will depart at 4 pm on the 24th, and expect to arrive in Toronto at 6 pm on the 25th, 26 hours later, riding nonstop!
I would be extremely grateful for any contribution you are able to make to this extremely important cause. Having run this charity for 3 years of my undergrad degree at Queen's, I know firsthand how valuable this program is, and I want to help support them in a time where the charity is forced to adapt. Start2Finish has their 20th anniversary this year and this journey will also be in support of that!
Here is more information about why literacy is so vital to students, especially at a young age:
Children living at or below the poverty line face daily life stressors in the physical, social, emotional and mental realms of their lives, impacting their ability to self-regulate and learn. Self-regulation, the ability to control rather than give in to one’s physical and emotional impulses, has been shown to be a far greater predicator of success in college/university and life, than IQ and even grades. Due to the many stressors in their lives, children living in poverty do not have the mental/emotional capacity to focus on an activity, attend to information being given, heed instructions and follow-through on them; they are not able to self-regulate.
