My Birthday Fundraiser for Our Sam Music Project

MY BIRTHDAY FUNDRAISER FOR 'OUR SAM' MUSIC PROJECT FOR BABY LOSS
My name is Philippa Davies, Founder of Our Sam (www.oursam.org.uk), but more importantly I'm me, a Mum who can't be a Mum in the normal sense of the word.
After losing our beautiful baby girl, Sam , who was born asleep in January 2012, and also her 4 siblings, at earlier stages of pregnancy over the last 9 years, I never managed to reach my lifelong, ultimate dream of Motherhood.
In a few weeks, I will reach my 49th birthday, and as part of my birthday celebrations, I have decided that I now have to allow myself to start living for me. I will always carry my babies with me, and professionally, I will be turning our sad experiences in into something positive through Our Sam, to support other parents through the horrendous journey loss, but this birthday I have decided to plan 5 days of activities in the run up to the 30th September. All the activities I am going to be doing are things I would love to have done with my children, but instead I am doing them as just me, for me.
I am going to take people along with me on social media, through videos and pictures. It's incredibly lonely, as a bereaved, childless parent, but it is possible to live again, and as much as I've resisted it for a very long time, feeling guilty doing things for me, as hard as it is, I am going to do this, and show it is possible.
Whilst I'm doing this, I would really like to see if I can raise some funds for Our Sam's very first project through birthday donations.
With Our Sam's first project, we want, through the magic of music, to reduce isolation and loneliness, bringing bereaved parents together, and also raise awareness of what we have to face when we lose babies, at any stage. Our hope is that the music will go way beyond our first project, and become an ongoing part of the creative arm of Our Sam.
In the words of Victor Hugo "Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent".
Music has been a great friend to me over the last 9 years, as well as holding memories for me, in a way I couldn't.
Although I can't say too much yet about this very special project, you will hear more about it at every step we take, so watch this space.
We have been very lucky that some wonderful people have come forward and donated their expertise, time and support, but there are additional costs and expenses along the way that Our Sam needs to find.
So while I am overcoming the challenge of stepping out into the world this birthday, trying to see the light through the trees, with my four-legged family, and taking you with me for company, if you would be kind enough, to support Our Sam's very special first project, our music project, that would be absolutely incredible.
