Face Masks for our Future

Students at Valley Elementary Need Masks!
Various public elementary schools in San Diego County are planning to resume in-person learning as early as the first week in October. Per the State health guidelines, everyone returning to school must wear a mask to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Unfortunately, some families and students have trouble getting masks for school. That’s why we, proud Valley Elementary alumni, decided to launch this fundraiser to help with this issue at our alma mater. Valley Elementary is an amazing Title 1 school serving a socioeconomically challenged area in Poway. We are so grateful for all that Valley taught us in the dual-language program and feel strongly about giving back to students in need at our elementary school. A free, reusable Valley mask will go a long way in helping to promote a sense of community as well as everyone’s health and safety.
What Will We Do With the Money?
With the money we raise, we will purchase masks for all Valley Elementary Students (roughly 700 children) that help them show their school spirit and keep them safe at the same time. We have contacted Valley administration and the Valley PTA and they are very thankful for the offer of free masks for all students. By communicating with them, we came up with a total of $4000 that needs to be raised in order to supply all the students with masks. A generous Valley Alum family will match the first $500 donated! As high school students, we are also planning to donate to the cause but really need the community’s support to make this happen! Please consider donating even a small amount as every penny helps. If you are interested in donating to this worthy cause, please consider donating quickly as students will be back on campus at Valley in October. Thank you for visiting our GoFundMe and we appreciate your support!
Who Are We?
We are a team of 5 Valley Alum who wish to help the school for all the help they've given us. All 5 of us (Brandon, Max, Drew, Sean, and Juan) started this GoFundMe to protect both the faculty and students from COVID-19.
