Basket Of Blessings (BOB)
Wild At Heart University is taking up donations throughout the year to be able to put together food basket of items to feed a family of 4-5. Items in the food basket would contain items such as: Turkey Breast or Ham, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Mac & Cheese, 2 cans of corn, 2 cans of beans and a box of brownies for families in need in our churches.
With the donations received we could look at blessing Families throughout the year just not in the Christmas Season. Some area of focus would be at the major holidays such as Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We realize that during the year, there might be families that may be in need for a basket of food blessing, we would then use the fund to assemble a basket to get to them.
We estimate each care package will cost approx. $40, depending on how much we collect, will determine the amount of families we will be able to bless.
We will reach out to the pastors of the churches to see which families they are aware of that need a blessing. If you are aware of a family, please let WAHU Leadership know.
In the bible there is a recorded incident that Jesus Christ was able to feed the multitude with just 2 fish and 5 loaves of bread. Jesus was able to multiply what was given to Bless Families. In fact, after everyone was well feed the disciples gathered the remaining portions of food in Baskets. Scripture does not point out how the Baskets were used, but with so much food leftover, I’m sure they Blessed Families with it.
Matthew 14:17-21 But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat." And they said to Him, "We have here only five loaves and two fish." He said, "Bring them here to Me." Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained. Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.
Those who donate to this cause your names will appear on the care packages to let the families know who blessed them. We will generate a report to the donors of what families were blessed.
