Beaubien Community Solidarity Fund

Beaubien Elementary School is part of the Chicago Public School district, located in the beautiful Jefferson Park neighborhood on the northwest side. We are home to over 1,000 students from grades Pre-K – 8 in a neighborhood program and a Regional Gifted Center. We welcome children from all over the city, as well as both primary and intermediate low incidence cluster programs. Our school is extremely diverse, with over 60% of our students identifying as being part of a minority group. The benefits to having a diverse group of students are many, and we feel lucky to work with such an incredible group of students and families.

We feel very fortunate to be part of a giving community.  With the unprecedented effects of the pandemic, many of our Beaubien students and their families have fallen upon hard times.  We are asking for your support in helping some of our Beaubien families that can use some aid to cover necessities during this critical time. Through conferences and conversation, our administrators and counselors have identified the families that are most in need. Families will receive gift cards for food or clothing and financial support for rent and/or utility bills. In order to protect the privacy of the recipients, their names will remain anonymous.

We are asking for your support in helping our Beaubien families. The top fundraisers and a few other randomly chosen donors will receive the ultimate prize: the opportunity to join in a Beaubien virtual holiday cheer activity provided by our very own Beaubien staff!! Winners will be contacted on the last day of the campaign, December 17th. Be on the lookout for more details! In addition, every donor will receive special recognition in the Beaubien banner.

Every donation counts, no amount is too small. Please feel free to share our campaign on social media. We know that during the holiday season many families are looking for ways to support and give back to the Chicago community. If family members or friends donate to our cause, please ask them to include your Beaubien student’s name and room number in the comment section, even if they donate anonymously (an example of what they should write is: In behalf of: Smith, Room 000). That way your child will get "credit" for that donation. This comment option is only available if you make the donation on a  computer. If you place your donation on a phone or tablet, you will not have access to the comment section. Please email your homeroom teacher and let them know if a donation was placed on your student's behalf.

We know this is an ambitious goal, but we are are hopeful we can reach it with your help. Your support can make a difference in a family’s life. We feel fortunate to be part of a giving community.

Sincerely,
Beaubien School Staff
