First Christmas Away From Family

Hi everyone, thank you so much for reading! This year I moved into my own apartment away from my mom and 2 sisters who i’m very close with. The plan was always to come home for Christmas which is something I always do, and if I can’t go this year it’ll be my first time not being there, I would also most likely be alone in my apartment because my roommates are going home. Because of Covid I’m running low on funds and so is my mom. We both can mostly only afford rent and bills, and round trip tickets from nyc to my hometown are $500 at minimum. I know there are way worse problems but I would really like to go home and see my family. Thank you and have a good day
