Brick Classroom for Good Samaritan School 1 of 3

(En español más abajo)

ENGLISH:

One euro, one brick:

Every euro you donate will turn into a brick to build a new classroom for the Good Samaritan Preparatory School  at Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda.

Why bricks? Currently the school has 3 buildings on the lower side and one on the upper side of the land. Two of the lower buildings are built out of mud and wooden poles, and only one is made out of bricks. This mud buildings get damaged during rainy season, which means that children cannot get  education in a physically stable place, the minimum expected of a school. The idea is to replace one of these buildings for another made out of bricks, strong and resistant bricks. We start with 1/3rd of this building in the first campaign.

We ourselves have already raised money to build the roof, but we need your help to build the walls and door. Imagine what we could do if we all donated just one pound.

Help us help them have a normal classroom, a decent place to learn, as we all would want for our own children.

Background information:

The Good Samaritan Preparatory School is run by Kenneth Twijukye and the teachers of the school and supported by travellers at times w/o pandemic.

Kenneth was born and raised in a village of Lake Bunyonyi and lost his father when he was 7 years old. To avoid that children without a family or from very poor families have a similar fate as he had, he founded the Good Samaritan Preparatory School.

It's goal is to help children in need by giving them a community, guidance and teaching them the material of the first and second grade in order to prepare them for the higher grades.  Kenneth started the project as a Pre-school in 2014 with 32 children and two teachers, Jacob and Macklin. Meanwhile the Good Samaritan Preschool has 5 classes, 98 children and 5 teachers and teaches first and second grade (as of December 2020).

The Good Samaritan School receives no financing from the state, even though we are certified by the local authorities. We pay the teachers income and the school material from donations and from the profits of Bunyonyi Cultural Tours,  a private non-profit company, that shows tourists the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi and of Uganda.

As you can imagine, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year practically nothing has been received from the Bunyonyi Cultural Tours since tourism has dropped considerably.

This campaign is set up by Tibor Kramer, who met Kenneth Twijukye in 2016 in Uganda and set up the webpage of the good samaritan school as well as of Bunyonyi Cultural Tours, which is a main source of financing for the school in normal times. Tibor lives in Munich, Germany. We are very proud to also be supported recently by a startup from Spain, www.Lullaai.com  and its users. Lullaai offers a technology to better manage babies sleep and now help us to fundraise for the school building.

We would like to thank all donators for their contribution! We sincerely hope, that all of you will come to visit the school in Uganda soon - you are always welcome!

Kind regards
Tibor & Kenneth

Si has donado ¡Gracias por tu contribución! Y si no has podido donar, te agradeceríamos mucho que compartieras nuestra campaña.

Saludos cordiales
Tibor y Kenneth.
