Faces of Tanzania

No one likes to see parentless children, same goes for no one wanting to see children being sexually abused nor turned out into the streets to beg. But well that was the reality of what I see during my time in Tanzania. Some of the children here face untenable living situations, from physical abuse, the threat of female genital mutilation to being denied basic education in schools, children runaway and live destitute lives on the streets.
But there are kind hearted people everywhere. One such group of people reside in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and help these children in need through their organization Camp Caleb.
Not only do they provide these children with the basic food, housing and schooling, but also with technical training such as clothmaking, crafts and farming. Of course times are hard and there are always more children in need. Therefore funding is needed in order to keep operations running and expanding.
Right now the immediate need is capital for more beds so that more children don't have to live off the streets and have a place to call home at the very least.
Beyond that, there are more long term objectives that Camp Caleb is working towards. Rent is a huge burden as well as the purchase of food so building a house and expanding the agricultural productivity of the land are both longer term objectives once the more urgent matters are taken care of.
We know that right now times are hard for many people, but just 1 dollar from you would show the children someone somewhere out there cares for the children of Tanzania.
