CincyPet Magazine is the only dedicated pet magazine serving the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky market. We are a free pet lifestyle magazine with the mission of entertaining, informing, and educating about all things pet in our market. Or vision is to serve the modern pet parent by providing up-to-date articles and information both in print and online through our website and social media channels. We printed our first issue in July 2019 and produce a print issue six times a year. Our magazine is available in digital form on our website. We also produce additional content on our website, which we promote through our social media channels.
Now that we have that out of the way, let me introduce myself. I’m Susannah, the founder and publisher of the magazine. My main business is as a pet photographer, but producing a pet magazine has been a vision of mine for a number of years and it was a niche that wasn’t filled in Cincinnati. Sure, other publications jumped on the bandwagon of pets by having a “pet issue,” which was really never more than a few pet related stories bundled in with their regular content. I wanted to serve the market with an entire publication dedicated to pets. Thus, CincyPet Magazine was born.
CincyPet Magazine is a free publication (although you can purchase a paid home delivery subscription .) Because the magazine is free, we pay for it’s production with advertising dollars. While we are still getting the word out about the magazine and constantly trying to get additional advertisers, it isn’t enough to cover the cost of producing each magazine, especially with money being tight because of the pandemic. We are completely independent of any other media companies and we have no investors or loans. Personally, I can no longer cover the costs with my own money or money from my other business. I want to keep the magazine going and I want to be able to grow what we do. Right now, there are a few people who have been dedicated supporters of the magazine and have been working for free, but no one should have to work for free. And that is how we arrived at GoFundMe.
With money raised from GoFundMe, we can ensure that not only will we have the money to cover the costs of producing each issue of the magazine, but we will be able to pay the writers and other contributors (like our fabulous graphic designer) for not only their past work, but future work. Additionally, this money will allow us to pay more writers and contributors to create more content for our website to maximize it to the fullest. I know that we will eventually bring in the revenue we need from advertising, but right now we need your help. Help us keep CincyPet Magazine going and growing so that we can better serve you, our audience. Everyone who picks up a copy of our print magazine loves it and we have so much more to offer online. Help us, so we can help you by providing the latest pet related news you need! Anyone who chooses to contribute will be acknowledged in future issues of the magazine as well as online.
