In May 2020 during the uprisings and protests going on throughout the world and USA, Rysse Guzman put out a call to folks with "skin privilege" to get together to have hard conversations and take responsibility for our part of the work in the movement.
8 members of the community were the first to respond. They are healers, counselors, facilitators, and teachers.
Rysse and her team had a vision of what the work could look like. They did the work with themselves first — processing, sharing, and healing. For 7 months they co-created this workshop. They were committed to practicing what they preached — decolonizing and unlearning capitalism by not rushing and ensuring the work was sustainable for all.
Here it is. Their labor of love.
This work means nothing if it is not accessible to folks in need. There are two scholarship recipients we are raising funds for. Your gifts will go towards the decolonizing and ancestral healing of two courageous individuals ready to take full responsibility for their role in dismantling oppressive systems. We have a goal of $700 that we are trying to achieve by February 7th. This will cover the full cost of the program for two participants and gofundme fees.
All efforts and contributions are very much appreciated. If you prefer to make an offline donation, please send the following ways:
