Welcome friends & family, thank you for your interest and support for Brews 4 Backpacks (#B4B) year three!
We started Brews 4 Backpacks back in 2018. It began with a desire to make even the slightest difference in the Detroit homeless community. When four life-long friends created a startup digital media company together, we all agreed to bring purpose and impact into our community. We wanted to be known for something beyond our creative content and unconventional workplace (Wave Media has no HR department so if you know someone qualified, have them email Ryan). After we spitballed charity ideas together, we finally realized we were sitting atop a jackpot of Michigan's richest natural resource... RETURNABLE ALUMINUM CANS. That's right, $0.10 p/ returnable cans drink your heart out Wave Media faithful. With all four Wave Media partners recently graduating college, we figured between us four alone we could guzzle enough cans to build a new school together... or at least raise $100 bucks. If nothing else, we figured what red-blooded American approve of drinking beer (or sparkling water) and turning the recyclable can money into backpacks?

...annnd our idea turned holiday get-togethers into philanthropic campaigning. Since inception we've raised....

distributed 120 survival packs
Our goal for this project is to provide necessary items to those who need them the most. With hope that one day, at least one person’s life will be changed, thanks to one of our backpacks.
