Civil Rights Educational Trip-Persian Podcast

Donation protected
The murder of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020 sparked a heated debate, including among Persian-speaking communities in the US and beyond. As this debate continues, we aim to raise awareness about the history of racism and the civil rights movement as well as connecting the past to the present, by discussing issues that immigrant communities face in the US today.

In April 2021, a group of Persian-speaking artists and producers will depart Washington D.C. to retrace the Freedom Trail and produce daily podcast episodes along the way. Each episode will narrate, in Persian, the stories of black and white Americans who risked their lives and endured savage beatings and imprisonment—for simply traveling together on buses and trains as they journeyed through the Deep South. The podcast will highlight major historical events as well as key civil rights figures, particularly women who were part of this struggle. You can follow our trip on an interactive map and join the conversation about this important topic, through our social media platforms.

Please support us by donating to the Civil Rights Project and be part of this amazing educational adventure. We have set a goal of $5,500 to be able to cover the cost of travels and production of the podcast.

On behalf of our team everywhere, we thank you for supporting this life-changing project!
