Brooke Needs Our Help with Rent, Gas & Food

Dear Community,
 For those that don't know Brooke Patmor (they/them) personally, you were probably sent this link by someone who knows and loves them.

Brooke is an extraordinary human being. For most of their adult life, Brooke has dedicated their livelihood to taking care of others. In more recent years, this work has been providing birth & postpartum services with a special emphasis on serving the queer and trans community in Northern California. They are a dedicated and attentive friend and community member and are always among the first to step forward in lending an ear, sharing resources, or taking action to contribute to societal healing & justice.

The power and love that Brooke brings to this world makes this next message that much more difficult to write.

THE WHY
Wednesday, January 6th, 2021- Brooke was a victim of identity fraud and lost their entire life’s savings. Years and years of hard earned wages were gone- just like that. A police report has been filed and all of the financial institutions notified and all other possible legal steps have been taken however, Brooke has been told not to expect any return of funds.

In addition to this experience being wildly violating & destabilizing, it is continues to drain Brooke's energy as they to deal with various investigations, closing & starting of new accounts and more. Therefore, as well intended as you may be, please do not ask Brooke to tell the story nor offer any advice on how they should handle it.

THE ASKS
We need your help. Under normal circumstances, meeting the cost of living in the Bay Area is extremely difficult. Under these circumstances, it is impossible unless we pool our resources to support Brooke getting through these next 3 months.

ASK 1:
We are raising at least $8,000 to cover the cost of rent, utilities, phone bill, car payment, food, & other necessities for 3 months. Please share as generously as you are able and consider leaving a note of encouragement for Brooke down below <3.
