Lakou Events is a Family Owned Event Space with a vast Commercial Kitchen and Food Oasis. Our beautiful 10,000 square foot facility sits on 4 acres of serene land, anchoring Mount Laurel's newly designated Main Street! www.LakouEvents.com
What does Lakou Mean? The word Lakou, in Haitian Kreyol, means courtyard. Our Haitian traditions are centered around families and businesses sharing a courtyard (or Lakou) where people gathered together to sing, dance, debate and share a delicious meal. Lakou Events is bringing that same tradition to our communities here in the United States, starting in South Jersey.
Campaign: Our goal is to raise one million dollars and reach one million followers so we can provide services to our entrepreneurs and small businesses at low cost enabling them to pass on those savings to their consumers.
Funds raised will allow us to:
- empower local entrepreneurs
- cover operating expenses
- facilitate upgrades and renovations
- establish mentorship programs for entrepreneurs
- develop our digital software platform
- support local organizations & nonprofits
When asked how I was going to fund this enormous vision, my response was simple. We'll raise the funds within our community... our LAKOU! Haters said it wouldn't work. Help me prove them wrong and show the WORLD that investing in the heart of our community is still the best investment we can make.

The Lakou Business Model:
Mission: 1) Bring people together, 2) Empower Small Businesses and 3) Invest in Communities.
Vision: Create a family atmosphere the community takes pride in and promotes unity.
Banquet Halls: 2 ballrooms, bar and outdoor patio. Classy & affordable space for birthday parties, weddings, reunions, baby showers, and any other reason to come together. Entrepreneurs and small businesses can also use our space to develop, test and launch their products and services.
Commercial Kitchen: 2,000 square feet of culinary creative space with a large walk-in fridge/freezer. Startup food services can run their operations directly out of our facility saving them thousands of dollars in startup and overhead costs. Additionally, Food Trucks can use our kitchen for their commissary services.
Outdoor Oasis: Our beautiful 4-acre lot is a place where families in our community can come together to eat a variety of delicious cuisines while enjoying live music and energizing choices of entertainment.
Small Business Empowerment: We will develop and deliver programs to educate and mentor entrepreneurs and small business owners along their journey. We will provide access to training in various areas such as leadership, process improvement, product development, marketing, and any other needs our small business owners may have. We are also developing our digital platform to provide more efficient ways for local small business owners and community members to integrate.
Campaign: We are launching our Campaign with the goal of raising one million dollars and reaching one million followers by February 26, 2021. Our desire is to provide services to our entrepreneurs and small businesses at an affordable cost so that they can pass on those savings to their consumers creating an environment where everyone wins. In order to do that we need to raise low debt/equity funding and we need your help to do it.
One Million Dollars: Raising one million dollars allows us to make the necessary upgrades to make “our Lakou” the center of our community, cover operating expenses, establish mentorship programs for entrepreneurs, and develop our digital software platform. It also gives us the ability to work towards launching our next location in your neighborhood. We want to be a business that focuses on the community, so we need the community to help us reach that goal.
One Million Followers: Reaching one million followers gives our entrepreneurs and small businesses a platform with the ability to successfully develop, test and launch their products which cuts down their startup costs tremendously.
