Messages of Hope

Donation protected
Since the last lockdown I have been wanting to do a project that encourages creativity, keeps people connected and promotes positive mental health in our local and national communities during these challenging times. My answer to this has come in the form of a project I call ‘Messages of Hope’. This project combines Zentangle designs in a choice of three words (HOPE, LOVE or HUGS) printed on postcards. The project is aimed at children aged 7yrs+ but adults are also welcome to take part. Each participant's design will be printed on ten postcards. One postcard by each participant will be kept as a record of the project with an aim to exhibit them all later in 2021 once restrictions are lifted. The remaining nine will be posted to the person who designed them. Four of these postcards will have names and addresses of nursing homes/care centers around Ireland already on them. The participants can write their own messages and send them using the An Post Freepost service for nursing homes provided during the pandemic. The other five can be sent to friends, loved ones or anyone that you really miss seeing during this period of restricted movement.

Jaycee Printers of Abbeygate Street Galway have kindly agreed to come on board with me at Galway Art Academy to part sponsor this project.  There are cost implications in printing/posting and as such I am asking for a minimum donation of €10 per participant to help cover these costs. The majority of the cost will be shared between Galway Art Academy & Jaycee Printers. As this is a non-profit initiative any remaining unused funds collected will go to the counselling organisation Let’s Get Talking.

Donations can be made without participating in the postcard project. Those wishing to participate in the project will need to use the contact button on this gofundme page so that I have an email address to send on the details on how to take part.
Each participant must provide a postal address within Ireland to receive their printed postcards. Unfortunately I cannot post to addresses outside the Republic of Ireland. Participants must agree to their postcard designs being exhibited and shared online as part of this project initiative. Jaycee Printers and Galway Art Academy must be acknowledged in any publicity or PR relating to this project. The postcard project is limited to 50 participants. Participants will be counted in date order of contact made through this gofundme page. Any donations past this cap of 50 will not receive any printed postcards however their donation will go directly to the charity.
