Rupert's surgery

Rupert is an orange male cat and is 10 months old. I came home last night from work and found my Rupert on the porch with a limp leg. I took him to the vet in the morning and was informed that his left back leg is broken and it's a bad break. He'll need surgery as well as pins and rods. He'll stay at the clinic over the weekend and they'll operate on Monday. I was told the surgery would be about $1,000. That's only an estimate. I work minimum wage and am short a few hundred dollars. It will take my entire paycheck and then $400 more to fix his leg. I don't want to amputate as I already have an amputee cat. Anything you give will be greatly appreciated.
