Accessible birth and postnatal support West Sussex

My name is Carolyn Holmes. I am a qualified birth and post-natal doula, living West Sussex.

I strongly believe that everyone should have the right to emotional and physical support during birth and in the vulnerable post-natal period but doula services are often perceived as a costly, boutique service. My aim is to work with vulnerable families in under privileged areas of West Sussex alongside Women's Charities and Support Services. I want to be a doula for everyone in the community and an invaluable resource.

I offer emotional and physical support to soothe anxiety in labour, in turn reducing the need for medicalised intervention that often lead to complications in childbirth. After the birth, by allowing new parents to settle in with their babies, supporting them in those early weeks and alleviating the stress can reduce the likelihood of post-natal depression and psychosis. 

I would be so grateful to receive donations from those who are passionate about community work, Maternity and Childbirth support services and who believe that everyone should have the right to non judgmental advice. Support such as this will allow me to continue to provide funded resources to these vulnerable families.
