Hi, I would like to reach out to everyone who loves music and loves to support new music.
I've been working for many years on writing and releasing albums, which are all self financed and they have done pretty well. However due to the recent unfortunate situation, many artists are facing an uncertain future with venues closing/shutting down and the tightening of everyone's belts, due to finances being stretched to the limit with living expenses for us all.
Living costs are now causing my mental health to spiral in the wrong direction, it's very hard to concentrate on creativity when you are wondering how you're going to feed yourself or keep the roof over your head. The government gives smaller artists very little funding, even though it's one of the largest revenues in the UK alone. The lone musician is often the first to fall and to be forgotten.
I am now at a desperate stage of reaching out for help to keep me going. I believe that what I create should be heard, it isn't churned out, it's music from the heart which I feel many can relate to.
My music is electronically song based, my artist name is She's Got Claws, just like the song by Gary Numan, who is a strong influence on my music. I am self taught for many years working on a laptop using Logic Pro with the available plug ins which come with the package. It's a small set up but this doesn't limit my creativity.
The video link for my recent song, Adulation, is all self financed. I organised this with my partner, who shot the footage with a storyboard guidance. This footage was given to me to create a video using my free iMovie app. We paid for the venue's time with the small budget we had and two friends gave their time for free to be part of the story.
I would like to ask for funding to help me carry on as a musician. As a thank you I will be able, hopefully if I raise enough funds, to release my debut album which was written in 2012.
This is the only album which hasn't been released and is the foundation which I have developed my sound from. I see this album as new music because there aren't many people who've heard this.
The money will be used for creating the artwork, printing costs, professional duplication and if I raise enough, there could be an added bonus of a sleeve booklet to accompany this album. I could just release this album via a download but this still costs money and isn't a special keepsake of a physical album.
I have been asked on numerous occasions to release this album as a physical CD, so I feel a duty to keep my fans happy, as this has a positive effect on my mental health. Unfortunately at present I do not have the funding to make this happen.
I'm an artist who needs support from you, so I can keep creating new music for your pleasure and to give you the escapism which we all desperately need.
I need the funds as soon as humanly possible and if there is any money left from helping me to carry on and releasing my debut album, then this will be put towards new music with new releases for you to enjoy.
As a huge thank you; when I have the necessary funds to cover all costs towards the debut album, all donations of £10 or more will qualify for receiving the debut album. Your name will be noted and the physical CD album will be sent to you in due course. You will be notified by email when your album is available, so please reply with the address you wish for me to send your package to.

It's so scary to think of how our world, when this pandemic is over, will have less venues, gigs and many creative people will have gone too. I'm hoping I won't be one of those casualties.
