Hewuse Family Homes LLC provides adults with disabilities a safe place to live their lives as independently as possible. Hewuse Family Homes assisted living home, based in Tomah, Wisconsin, is set to open in August 2021. Between 4 and 6 residents will live in the home at any given time. The assisted living home is open to adults with developmental disabilities. All residents will have 24/7 care, weekly group activities, family-style meals, and transportation to appointments, events, and jobs.

Residents will be encouraged to take part in a variety of activities including:

• Building social skills through community outings, local church gatherings, and volunteering

• Exploring creativity through arts & crafts, gardening, and cooking

• Fitness routines with Special Olympics programs and events

• Educational experiences with cooking, cleaning, etc.

• Exciting day trips to water parks, zoos, and state parks

• Celebrating holidays and special events with HFH, family, and friends

Please donate to support our small business startup costs. Every dollar goes toward creating a home for adults with disabilities to be safe and cared for.

History

Hewuse Family Homes is a family business named after its co-founders, sister and brother, Tia and Trey Hewuse. They started this business for their sister Cassie. Cassie was born with intellectual disabilities and struggles with many skills needed to become an independent adult. Her siblings were concerned about taking care of her when she wanted to move out of their parents' home. Tia and Trey's solution was to open an assisted living facility where she and other young adults with disabilities have a safe and loving place to live.

About HFH

Hewuse Family Homes works to keep God at the center of its mission. They will be actively involved in the community and encourage their residents to procure jobs, volunteer, and be involved in activities such as Special Olympics to occupy their time and fill their lives. Each resident has their own room in a large country house in Tomah, Wisconsin. Downstairs there is a common living area where residents enjoy family-style meals and many fun activities throughout the week. Residents are provided transportation to all activities or have transportation arranged for them. Residents will be aided in all aspects of day-to-day living as needed. Employees will also encourage residents to be as independent as possible by preparing their own/group meals, civic responsibilities, employment, exercise, etc.

Our Mission

To provide a safe and caring home for adults with developmental disabilities. With our faith in Jesus Christ, we aim to stay a positive force in our community and give our residents opportunities for independence, education, and self-fulfillment.
