Future Voices: Students for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion was formed by nursing students this past August to act in support of antiracist, anti-oppressive, intersectional, and inclusive ideals on our campus and within our curriculum. We value the opinions and experiences of underrepresented individuals and communities. We strive to amplify their voices. We aim to foster systemic change to better serve diverse communities, starting with our education.
Future Voices believes that providing resources to a diverse set of students in need will facilitate the expansion of diversity and equity in nursing. $5,000 will provide supplies for 25 students in Aurora, CO who would otherwise have to borrow money, work a second job, or attempt to cope without optimum materials to succeed in nursing school. Many of these materials are fundamental to matriculation and graduation from nursing school, and many students must defer or choose not to further their education due to the excessive cost of this vital career. Your donation will help purchase necessary materials like Chromebooks, printers, Turning Point/Responseware subscriptions, textbook access codes, drug guide books, and a clinical supplies bundle including high-quality stethoscopes, penlights, and trauma shears.
