Daddy & Mommy of Baby Mason

Baby Mason was a victim of child abuse by his babysitter on Tuesday March 23, 2021  Below is a post that Mason's mother made describing the events.  Below that was the initial update, and now he is safe at home with both parents.

We have been told that due to this being a criminal matter Mason's medical bills will be taken care of through financial assistance with the state. However due to this horrific incident the household is down to 1 income as the mother will stay home with Mason for a few weeks to make sure he has a full recovery, as well as allow her to rest from all the mental and emotional trauma she has endured over the last few days. This is going to put a huge financial strain on the family.  I decided to reach in hopes to make this journey they are facing a little easier on them until everyday life can get back to normal.

If you are interested in helping, no matter the amount,  it would be a blessing for them.  The money would go towards rent, utilities, food, diapers and formula for Mason.  Should you want to send gift cards for groceries or diapers please message me directly for the mailing address.

On behalf of Mason, his Mom and Dad  and the rest of our family, we thank each of you that have had Mason in their thoughts and prayers.  As we continue to love on our little man and get him to full recovery, keep the positivity and love coming!

Mother's Words:
Yesterday I was at work when I received a call from my roommate Kellista Haskins. She called me crying and told me that she didn't know what was wrong, but she was freaking out because Mason's face was swelling up really badly. I asked her to send me a Pic and immediately dialed 911 hoping against all hope that it was an accident. The ambulance got to my house and instantly asked if there was any chance he'd been dropped (there wasn't) and my stomach fell. As time went on and more police officers questioned her she kept changing her story. I held out hope that this woman who I'd grown close with and left my son with on several occasions because I truly trusted her was just scared of getting in trouble for whatever accident occurred... I was informed that after hours of being questioned she admitted to striking him across the face twice. My world was shattered. How could someone do something to such a sweet and loving boy. To such a wonderful 3 month old. TO MY BABY! Of course charges have been pressed. And naturally, the news caught wind of the incident... Now I'm terrified to leave him with anyone besides three people and idk what to do. In a matter of hours my entire world was flipped upside down. Words can't express the anger, shame, and betrayal I feel due to her. Her husband was absolutely crushed that she could do such a thing to him, only to be arrested later for possession of illegal substances IN MY HOUSE!! I'm disappointed in him, but I don't hate him like I do her. He's a genuinely good person who just happened to get mixed up with the wrong woman. On the bright side my baby boy is doing fine. His face is sore and bruised but luckily there was no bleeding on his brain and he has no broken bones as we could see on his xrays. I just wanted it to come straight from the mother's mouth. And to warn everyone that you never know what someone is capable of doing. Feel free to share.

Initial update:
For those of you that don't know and for those of you that do I wanted to give an update because I know a ton of people are concerned.
Baby Mason was being watched by the parents roommate. After several different stories she finally admitted to striking him twice in the face because he wouldn't stop crying. She has be arrested for multiple charges including child cruelty in the 1st degree and aggravated battery.
Mason is doing just fine, he is still being monitored at CHOA. No broken bones, no internal bleeding, and no brain damage. Just badly bruised. Please keep Mason and our whole family in your thoughts, its been extremely long, stressful, and exhausting 22 hours to say the least.
