Housing costs for Army Veteran

Donation protected

I was discharged from the Army after serving 27yrs, with a VA disability rating of 80% on 18 Aug 2016. My career begun on 19 Nov 1988, in the Utah Army Nat'l Guard with the 625th M.P. Co. In Dec 1996, I transferred to the U.S Army Reserve, and served in a TSB BN after the deactivation of the 625th M.P Co. Jan of 2003 the BN was sent to Ft Carson Co, to assist in the mobilization of troops for OIF/OEF. I was picked up on the AGR program while at Ft Carson, in Oct 2003, and have served in various locations; MN, PA, and Tx where my career was cut short in 2016. After I was seperated, we had to request an extension to remain in base housing, which was granted until 1 Apr 2017. We have been staying in a hotel since Apr because I can only verify my Military retirement pay to potential landlords, which does not meet the standard income requirements of 2-3 times the rental amount. To this day, I have not received a penny of my VA disability compensation, I have been relying on friends, family, and other organizations to help pay for the hotel, but their funding has run out. This platform is a last ditch effort by me to prevent me and my family from becoming homeless.
