Funeral Fund for Marco Alonzo

On December 3rd, 2019, my nephew was killed unexpectedly outside of his home, just days before his 21st birthday. This comes as a tremendous shock for many of us who loved him. My nephew smiled everywhere he went; his laughter was contagious. He loved and cared for everyone around him. He loved sports, music, and hanging out with his friends. Losing him is something we will be hurting from for the rest of our lives.

We are asking for help to raise $10,000 to cover the costs of the funeral, burial, and the time off my sister will be taking from work. Any little bit will help us during this tough time. Please keep us in your prayers. We are so thankful for all the love and support we have received so far, and we are glad to call you all family and friends while we make sense of this.

Below you will read two tributes written by Marco's younger and older sister.

"Quito, the only man in my life ever. The only man I’ve ever or will ever shed tears over. You were my rock. I could tell you anything. Even if we didn’t talk one day I always knew you were there. I’ve always looked up to you. I only knew you for 14 years but I wouldn’t trade those memories for the world. Only 10 days away from being 21 but they took you from us before you could even blow out your candles. I ain’t never ever felt this typa pain before and honestly this shit don’t even feel real. I’m just waiting for you to come skipping out your apartment smiling hella hard like always when mama and I picked you up. I could type for days and days about you but for now LONG LIVE KING QUITO!" -Gracie Alonzo

"All I can say is I love you and just want to come up to me smiling with something goofy to say like you always do. You were my my first memory. Being your big sister was the first time I felt proud of anything. You were always smiling. You are all I’ve ever known. You would have been 21 next week, but now you’ll never get to grow up. You’ll never get to meet your niece. But she would have loved you. I can’t wait to tell her all about you. I love you forever and ever and there’s not a minute where I’m not thinking about you.

If Quito were here today he would want to tell you to ask God for wisdom, be careful who you hang out with and love your family because this life is so short and there’s eternity waiting afterwards. Everyone will stand before God on judgement day and our only hope is in Jesus" -Diana Alonzo
