Ayúdame a superar mi diagnóstico

Help me get past my diagnosis  (English version at the end).

Help me get past my diagnosis.

Hello I am Leo, although my mommy calls me many things "Leito, cositio,  pasuso", and I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy which causes epilepsy and a very weak body that does not let me explore, play, and have fun like other children.

Help me with this fundraiser so that my parents can buy me all the equipment (walker, orthopedic chair,  stander, etc.) that I need to move without my head falling, so I can concentrate on seeing the world and not holding this heavy head that I have.   Also, I must go to a lot of therapies to gain strength and not get sick quite so often. Every day counts in improving my cognitive and physical development, and my parents want to give me everything I need, to help me become strong and improve my mobility.

My mommy, daddy, and I are never going to give up on a prognosis and giving me everything to make me happy and to make me move, play, and learn new things without my body suffering additional damage.  I have grown a lot and I am almost half the size of my mommy who is very short and cannot carry me as before.

That is why we urgently need to buy some technical aids (4,000 euro walker, 6,000 euro orthopedic chair, 2,500 euro stander, 450 euro bathroom chair).  I also have regular necessary therapies (horse therapy 1 time per week for 160 euros, physical therapy 2 times per week for 400 euros, speech therapy 2 times per week for 400 euros, aquatic therapy 1 time per week for 160 euros), and several other specific intensive therapies for neurorehabilitation that we have planned for this year (Terasuit 3,000 euros and ARB 2,500 euros).

Thank you so much to everyone who wants to help me on my way!!

I will leave you with a story that my mommy likes to tell about me, her little champion, whom she and daddy love with all their soul:

When my baby was born it was the most important moment of my life.  I heard him cry and I just wanted to know how he was, "Is he okay, is he okay?" I asked.  "Everything is perfect, he is beautiful!!" his daddy told me in tears. Stretching the only arm I could move to have him passed to me, I cried with the excitement knowing that everything was fine... and I knew I'd never see someone so beautiful again.

Without ever suspecting that something could go wrong in our life, we committed ourselves to living and loving each other very much, sleeping in a very large bed to be always together the 3 of us, to travel a lot and to take many photos with our boy, to cook together singing children's songs and to build toys and little things for our baby.

At 9 months old, when I was told something was wrong with my baby, my world fell apart, we had almost a year of depression, but I knew that I had to be strong and fight to get through whatever was coming.  They started the exams and the investigations to know why my Leito couldn't hold his head or sit like the other babies his age, and why those "tremors" that many doctors told me were normal (and would stop over time), just became  more frequent.

After months of examinations and hospitalization for uncontrolled epilepsy, I knew that not only did I have to be strong to overcome an this illness, but I had to transform life completely to live differently than I thought, because my Leito has Cerebral Palsy.

"Cerebral Palsy is not a disease, it is a term to refer to damage to the brain that can affect several abilities of a person."
