Save Oelwein Sacred Heart - SOS❤️
Help Carver (8) and Sawyer (6) in their efforts to help save Sacred Heart School of Oelwein.
Sacred Heart has a rich and varied history. The first building constructed was the rectory, built in 1891. Sacred Heart Grade School was built in 1904, and the church was completed four years later. The high school was completed in 1929. The first resident pastor was Rev. Patrick S. O’Connor. The church was badly damaged by a tornado in May 1968 and a fire in June 1979.
Sacred Heart School has been sustained by the church and student tuition for over a century and is a staple in the community of Oelwein, Iowa. Low enrollment in recent years at Sacred Heart has caused drastic changes to be put in to effect. The fate of the school is looking bleak, as the amount of funds available for maintaining operations dwindle.
Donations to help Sacred Heart School will be used to maintain sustainability while enrollment numbers are addressed with possible marketing campaigns and additional recruitment efforts moving forward.
While donations keep the lights on in this school of rich history, we ask first and foremost to keep the students and faculty of Sacred Heart School of Oelwein in your prayers.
Mathew 6:4
“so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.”
