On Thursday May 30, 2019, an argument between two sisters turned violent. After a verbal altercation, Kisha Johnson was run over repeatedly by her sister in front of their mother's house. Kisha was then dragged down the street while she was pinned underneath her sister's SUV. Afterwards, Kisha was left in the street to die while her sister fled the scene. With life threatening injuries, Kisha was rushed to the ER and later placed in the intensive care unit. Kisha suffered 16 broken ribs, a broken pelvis, burns on her face, a collapsed lung and a broken collar bone; she is currently fighting to make a full recovery.
Kisha has undergone surgery to place screws in her broken pelvic bones. She is awaiting a possible surgery on her ribs to place metal plates on each broken rib and bind them together. She is currently undergoing breathing treatments to relieve the low oxygen levels and mucus in her lungs. Her pain levels are high and she will require intensive recovery treatments.
We are all feeling optimistic that Kisha will make a miraculous recovery, but this won't happen overnight. It may take months of intensive in-hospital residency, and up to a year of physical rehabilitation, for Kisha to begin to feel okay again. Kisha's mother, Darlene Brown, will be taking long stints of time off from work to focus on Kisha's recovery.
Kisha is a beloved friend and family member to us all; she is full of love and laughter, and always finds a way to put a smile on your face. Kisha's passion has always been giving back to others; she has dedicated many years to the medical field by working as a CNA and Medical Assistant. Prior to this tragedy, Kisha was working towards becoming a registered nurse to be able to give back to others in a greater capacity.
We, Kisha's family and friends, have set up this page to alleviate the financial burden on Kisha and her family. Your donations will help to obtain the essentials such as housing, living expenses, medical bills and rehabilitation.
We thank you in advance for your help and generosity.
Sincerely,
Kisha Johnson Recovery Fund Team
