We are in production of LOSING HOPE, a scripted series that follows Gideon Hope as he navigates through life, his friendships, hardships, sexuality and the reluctance of falling in love, again, all after a hard breakup.
We’ve been working hard this year to produce more episodes. And, we need your help! With your donations to this campaign, we will fund the pre-production and post-production costs. We'll then be able to complete the episodes and release them by Fall 2020.
THE PREMISE of LOSING HOPE
The pilot episode introduces you to Gideon Hope, who is a young, ambitious career professional. Though he is usually the successful overachiever, you’ll see how his past makes it difficult for him to embrace new love with Donnie. And you’re left wondering what will happen in the future. You also get a chance to fall in love with other characters, including:
Leo, Gideon’s light-hearted and carefree best friend. With an inviting sense of humor, he is the perfect Ying to Gideon’s Yang. Even when he can be a bit selfish, you’ll learn that it is a façade to his big heart.
Kelly, Gideon's successful, spunky, smart and sexy bestie. She always takes the optimistic approach and is all about giving life second chances even when second chances aren’t deserved.
And of course, there’s Donnie, the charming visual artist who unexpectedly (or perhaps fatefully) becomes Gideon’s not-so-usual suitor. Ever the free-spirited artist, Donnie is open to love. But fear gets in the way of a potentially budding relationship with Gideon. .
THE PURPOSE of LOSING HOPE
LOSING HOPE is a series about life, touching a variety of topics from sexuality, depression, interracial dating, racism and family issues. No matter which character you fall in love with, you will be able to relate to something that happens in all their lives. LOSING HOPE bravely shines light on the lives of characters – Black, Latino, multi-racial, homosexual, sexually assaulted – that we don’t often see in mainstream media. As the characters lose themselves in a variety of situations, they somehow find hope again.

As the creator of LOSING HOPE, I’m often asked what inspired the story. The answer is simple. Heartbreak. Heartbreak is one thing that many people can identify with. However, what makes LOSING HOPE unique is that it confronts heartbreak, among other topics, from the perspectives of a Black, gay man -- an underrepresented voice in media. What’s the aim? To inspire you, the audience, to use LOSING HOPE as a platform to show the world your truth. Sometimes losing hope ignites our journey to find it again.
