Vidal Paulino Fund

Before being born, the doctors found out that our baby would be born with a congenital heart defect.  So, in faith, we decided our baby boy would be called VIDAL (means full of life) RAPHAEL (healed by God) PAULINO.

Vidal was born on January 9, 2004 with his heart on the right side of his chest.  In a position, that prevented the heart from growing properly as he aged.  On December 10, 2019, Vidal underwent an 18 hour open heart surgery to replace the Aortic and pulmany valves at OSF Medical Center in Peorial, IL.  The length of the surgery brought about several complications.  The doctors and nurses have been great.  All of Vidal's organs have improved, except one.......his heart.  The surgeons and doctors have decide Vidal's heart is not healing and will need replaced if he is going to survive.  The surgeons at OSF feel they do not have the resources to perform the heart transplant surgery.  They are working closely with the Children's Mercy hospital in Kansas City, MO because they can perform the heart transplant there.  Vidal will be transferred to Kansas City very soon.

Unfortunately, the hospital in Kansas City is over 300 miles (6 hours) from home.  Due to the family's current financial situation and unreliable vehicles, this makes traveling to Kansas City very difficult.

The money raised here will go directly to Vidal's family to pay for travel  and  other expenses they incur along Vidal's way to complete healing and recovery.

More on Vidal.....

Even at the age of 15, Vidal has made quite a name for himself.  He was featured in the Forbes magazine and the local HOI news channel.  You can get those links by searching "Vidal Paulino Community Guru" on Google.
