Sammy Goldsmith's Brain Injury Recovery

Sammy Goldsmith is a beautiful, active, loving, intelligent 33 year old woman in the prime of her life. She grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ with her parents and sister, Jenny. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2008, Sammy has achieved a very successful career in Corporate Communications and has worked for top fashion and beauty brands, including Ralph Lauren and her current employer, Estée Lauder.  She is passionate about her close-knit family and devoted to her numerous friends. People are immediately drawn to her compassion, generosity and charisma.  Sammy is an extremely selfless person and always goes the extra mile for the people she loves. 

On August 8th 2019, Sammy was struck by a car while on vacation with friends in England and suffered a traumatic brain injury.  After being airlifted to a trauma hospital in Oxford, England, she underwent 2 emergency brain surgeries to save her life.  She spent the next few weeks in the ICU before being moved to a high care ward where she is today.  At this time, Sammy is only minimally conscious and it is still very unclear what the future holds. Her family has been with her in Oxford, England since the accident and is working closely with her medical team to repatriate her to the United States at the end of September. While Sammy is making progress towards recovery, it is a very slow process with a lot of unknowns.

The family is accepting donations to offset current and future medical costs.  Sammy has fought incredibly hard through this process and while it will be a long road ahead, we truly believe she will recover from this injury with the support of her friends and family.  As a girl who grew up right outside Philly, Sammy has the fighting spirit of Rocky inside her and we can't wait to see her comeback story!
