Hi everybody, I started this GoFundMe page to be proactive about fundraising for my next album project. As many of you know, there are numerous expenses that aren't covered by any arts grants including CD Pressing, Marketing, Radio Promotion and so much more. Without the combination of government grants and your generous support, album projects would not be possible especially now that we're all affected to some degree by the Covid outbreak.
This is essentially a bake sale as a fundraiser, so please contact me first before making a donation if you would like a loaf of delicious Sourdough bread. For obvious reasons, this is limited to the Calgary area and you would need to be willing to either meet me in the south end of Calgary or drive to my house. It's also important to talk to me first, because I can only do so many loaves in a day. I am a musician with baking skills, not a baker with music skills. If you are outside the Calgary, I would still be extremely thankful for your support, but it would be a straight up donation. I've set up my pricing as a suggested minimum, for a loaf that you're picking up from my house a minimum of $7 and if I need to drive to deliver it in South Calgary a minimum of $8 (if the distance is greater please make a higher donation after all this is a fundraiser). Both prices are a suggested minimum, so feel free to change it.
One question that often comes up is, why make an album now that streaming and singles are the dominant way people consume music? For me it's two reasons, first is an album lets me paint more than one musical picture and tell a larger story to those who will listen to an entire album at once. The second reason is very practical, having an album and project to present has been an essential part of selling my band to festivals and other touring offers. I hope in the not too distant future that we will be back to going to concerts and festivals and would love to present this new project as we move onto whatever the new normal is.
