Protester Packs

The recent murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade, Regis Korchinski-Paquet, and countless others showcase just a fraction of the undeniable history of institutional racism and oppression towards the Black Community. Today's protests are born of the pain and anger caused by the centuries of abuse against black women, men, trans folk, non-binary folk, and children.

To support the protesters on the streets, we are rapidly assembling “protester packs” to distribute with the intention of limiting the spread of COVID-19 and protecting the people on the streets right now.

These packs will be gallon sized zip lock bags with a face mask (commercial and handmade masks accepted here), a bottle of water, antacid tablets (to mix with water and neutralize mace/pepper spray), gatorade powder (to hydrate with electrolytes), and basic first aid supplies.

This is a grassroots project. We are a team led by black PhD students and our brown and white classmates and allies. We need lots of different kinds of help to make this happen like donations to fund the purchasing of supplies and assemblers to put the packs together.
