Honoring Brandon Salter ❤️
Who was Brandon Salter?
It’s hard to find the words to describe Brandon Salter in a way that can really sum up what an amazing person he truly was. Brandon Salter was a great friend, a loving brother, a hard worker, a dedicated father, and an overall amazing human being. Brandon was known for his big smile. When he walked in a room he was never seen without a smile on his face, and his smile was so contagious. Anytime he crossed your path, you would leave better and happier than you previously were. He was so sweet and so very young that we just never expected to be writing a memorial for him so soon.
On the tragic evening of June 5th, 2020, at the young age of 27 Brandon was murdered in Minneapolis Minnesota while trying to protect his sister. He survived the initial shooting, but passed shortly after at the hospital. Brandon died a hero, and we will always honor and remember him in our hearts as just that! Right now, we are struggling to process and put the pieces all back together so suddenly. He just didn’t deserve this.
Brandon was protective of all of the women in his life, but his ultimate dedication was to protecting and providing for his 3 year old daughter. He worked two jobs, from early morning shift to late night closing shift in order to provide a quality life for his young daughter. We will all miss Brandon terribly, but none of us will miss him more than her. Unfortunately, she has been stripped not only of the physical care and love she received from her Dad, but the financial contribution as well.
Fortunately Brandon had some life insurance coverage through his employment but that will only partially cover funeral and further memorial services. This GoFundMe is in place for multiple reasons and any funds raised will be used as follows:
Firstly, to cover any additional memorial related expenses that life insurance may not cover.
Secondly, a fund to help provide for his young daughter and a savings account to help cover future aspirations she may have.
