We are Susanne & Marcus Volk. We would like to begin by thanking you for taking the time to get to know us and our family. We have a fantastic life together in Atlanta with our son, Garrett, who is seven. Soon after Garrett was born, we knew we wanted to expand our family; however, there were some complications after having Garrett. Susanne is a Type 1 diabetic and legally blind. She grew up her entire life being told that she wouldn’t be able to have a child of her own due the complications that come with Diabetes and pregnancy. Because of this, even before we were married, we were both open to the idea of adoption and raising a family together. After a few years of marriage, Susanne’s doctor told us she was healthy enough to try and have a child of our own. Needless to say, we were elated. The pregnancy went well and we have this amazing, healthy boy! Fast forward seven years and we have a beautiful boy who is excited about the prospect of having sibling. We love our family but have more love to give. We also want Garrett to grow up with a brother or sister like my wife and I did. To know that you’re not alone in this world is priceless!

Unfortunately, this process has a price tag. We have a huge support network that is behind us, but not everybody can always give money. We  have love, prayers, and support, but that , alone, won't cover the costs of adoption. So we are reaching out to the world and hoping that all of the love and good fortune  that we have paid forward, might come back to us in some kind of way.
