Help Feed Zim Families in Coronavirus Lockdown

The mantra "stay at home," takes on a whole new meaning for the people of  Zimbabwe, who are finding it hard to isolate or keep social distancing due to their overcrowded homes and necessity for work.

The solution the world has devised in wisdom and knowledge is a potentially disastrous situation for many Zimbabweans. Their lodgings will become their coffins if they are unable to feed their families. 

It is no secret that many of the population live from hand to mouth, have no or little savings and are mostly self-employed. In other words, they have to work to eat. 

It costs about US$23 to feed a family of 6, two meals a day for a month. This includes 20kg of mealie meal (staple diet), 8kg of chunks (high in protein) and 2L of cooking oil. 

We need your help now. We understand that everyone is challenged at this time and any amount you can give will be much appreciated. A donation of $25 will feed one family of 6 for a month(including fees). Many people in Zimbabwe do not have enough eat.

We aim to help as many families as possible with your donations and mine. I pledge to be the first to donate which I will wire to my Zim friend who will immediately supply food to first 6 needy families that we have identified. 

We also know that financial and mindset education is needed to prepare people for future unforeseen challenges. This will be the next phase of this initiative.  

Bulawayo is the place I was born and my heart goes out to the kind people there who are doing their best to weather this challenge. They did not ask for help but will gratefully appreciate it.
