Help a Black Trans Person Get Free Through Healing

I want to tell you the things I’ve been dreaming of. Visions of owning a home, land, and space for Black trans and queer folks to take up. But there’s something that needs to come first, I need to heal.
I am raising $9,000 to receive mental, physical, and spiritual health services for the next 9-10 months because I have finally embodied the knowledge that I deserve the healing that I dream of and co-facilitate within my communities. I have been coordinating within a project called Community Roots since 2017 providing free herbal medicines to BIPOC trans and queer youth with the conviction that Black trans healing should be prioritized and now it is time to prioritize my own. I’ve chosen the period of time in which a human can be birthed into the world to engage in this transformative process for myself, because this tender queer works well within the fabric of a metaphor.
Colonized thinking tells us that wellness is a luxury exclusive to those who are resourced with both money and time. Anti-Black capitalism claims self-care is a treat consumable on the sidelines of the “real” world. Black Liberationist politic has taught me that there is nothing more real than my freedom and nothing more freeing than my healing.
This time of reset will set a solid foundation show up for the larger work that I’m called to (though the argument can be made that self work is equally large work):
My work in the future involves:
Owning land/home to live and foster Black trans and queer…
herbal scholarship
vegetable gardening skills
mini farmer and artist markets
African-Indigenous spiritual community,
fat affirming and trauma informed healing dance and movement workshops
self defense and weapon safety workshops/ skill share
If I surpass my goal, the exceeding funds will go towards my longer term goals. If you have access to land, information/funds for land projects, or would like to be a part of a recurring giving team to sustain my life and work please contact me.
