Making My Dreams Come True

Donation protected

My name is Shadé Prince Ademola. I am a Nigerian, Cape Verdean and West Indian artist from Providence, RI. It’s never been the easiest for me to ask for help. I feel the time is now to lean on my community to help in my struggle as a African-American, gender queer identifying woman who has struggled all of her life with mental health.

I dedicated my entire life to standing up for the fallen, abused and misunderstood because I have experienced nothing but pain my entire life. I have struggled the past few years with balancing being an artist and working full time. In conformed corporate spaces I have been over worked, underpaid and cheated out of promotions due to my skin color.

I was sexually assaulted at the age of 6 which continued until I was about 11-12. This was the main catalyst to the destruction of my mental health. Existing within a family who also struggles with mental health, I was never given help and as an adult this has prevented me from being able to perform at my best. In 2019, I moved to New York where I was working as a real estate agent for a property management company. I obtained food poisoning and was sexually assaulted by the EMT who was sent to safely escort me to the hospital. Upon telling the doctors, I was thrown into a psychiatric facility without my consent after refusing treatment due to feeling unsafe. I was pinned down by 8 officers when I wasn’t aggressive. Forced to strip in front of the same 8 officers and detained against my will. Thankfully, I had two phones and was able to call for help. Upon my mother picking me up, she was told that I was fine and I was let go. Upon leaving my job and returning back to my hometown to heal I was told I couldn’t press charges against the hospital by multiple lawyers  and the EMT was a separate company from the hospital so nothing could be done. After hearing similar stories, I learned that I was being poached for sex trafficking. Leaving me with yet more trauma to heal from. Upon returning home, I decided to speak my truth regarding the sexual assault within my family and was thrown out onto the streets after leaving everything I’d built behind. I struggled with homelessness the entire year.

I now am in school furthering my education to be able to powerfully be a leader/activist for the rights of African-American women/men and the LGBTQ community. I am still struggling with mental health and healing so everything takes longer to accomplish and being Black the economic odds are against me. So instead of my onlyfans I feel this is where my community comes in....

Ive been doing expressionist exhibitions for about three years now. I tie in different mediums of art to create healing experiences for my peers. I haven’t been able to focus on my purpose here because I’m consistently being set back due to survival.

My mission in life is to live a full life dedicated to farming and creating healing experiences for the world. I truly believe that the key to healing is through diet and spirituality. My dream is to buy land for farming and residential living. To lead by example in starting a community for African-Americans and LGBTQ to finally take back their power and truly heal from the injustice that has been done to us. The food that is grown on my farm will be donated to feeding the homeless. I dream of multiple locations around the world. I dream of owning a van to travel and feed the less fortunate. Homeless/low income people having a plant based clean diet will help them to heal from their traumatic experiences thus helping them to not need drugs/alcohol which will lead them to a better way of living. My dream is to hold exhibitions where I am combining music, a combination of visual aesthetics, and clothing to heal my community.

The combination of what is being put into the body, how the body is able to heal and also how the body feels on a day to day basis is the key to true healing and the attainment of peace here on earth.

To be very honest, this is my life’s work. I believe that I was put here to lead a revolution towards a better way of life for my
people.
