Holly & Mandy, Organizers When a friend has done so much for others and then experiences tragedy in their life you have to do something!  I am pleading to you to contribute to Odell Jordan’s medical expenses.  The Jordans moved to Florida to be closer to their only child and grandchildren when they realized they had to retire because of the care and attention Odell would need.  Carla and Odell were a vital part of their church community and touched many in the Tulsa, Sand Springs area.  They had planned for a comfortable retirement, NOT a retirement that included Odell’s diagnosis which is;  end stage liver disease (NASH, not caused by alcohol consumption), cirrhosis of the liver, liver cancer and stage 3 kidney disease.  Odell has been hospitalized twelve times and placed in a rehab hospital twice in the past two years.  Driving back and forth to Orlando (70 miles one way) to see specialists since last fall has contributed to a large increase in expenses.  Insurance does NOT pay for fuel, eating away from home, or hotel stays.  Odell has not been “sick enough”, despite devastating complications, to be on the transplant list until just a few months ago.  When (if) he is able to receive a transplant, there will be even more expenses. He will be hospitalized in Orlando for many weeks post transplant and his caretakers (Carla and Cory) will be required to be there daily to participate in the care team training and therapy sessions. Once allowed to go home Odell and Carla or Cory will be required to travel to Orlando 3x a week, or more, for continuous treatment and testing. Please consider helping this deserving family.
