Ms Glitter Nail Lounge Black Owned Business
Thank you for visiting our fundraising campaign. This is a call to action due to Covid-19 and racial injustices black owned businesses have been tragically impacted economically.
We are doing everything in our power to keep the last standing black owned nail salons in Oakland, With three black owned nail salons closing within the last year in the Bay Area; We are in danger of closing if we don't get the help we need.
With Nail Salons being in the last phase of businesses allowed to open in Alameda County, we need your assistance in transitioning from loss of clientele , sustaining profitability, and rebuilding business and trust with our clients.
Funds will support:
- Getting the salons Covid-19 ready to accept clients with the new safety regulations
- Marketing strategies to increase services.
- Purchases of supplies
- Paying employees
- Rebuilding
- Recovering from loss of income
- Ms Glitter Academy (Beauty, Nail, Hair, and Tech skills for young women of color in the community)
We have applied for many small business loans and government aid, only to be denied. With nine out of ten Nail Salons having fewer than ten employees; Funding for small businesses have been passed over for larger chains.
STATISTICS:
*Nail Salons in the United States are a multimillion dollar industry.
*59-80% of Nail Technicians in California are of Vietnamese descent.
*Estimated 5% of Nail Technicians in California are of African American descent.
