Greetings and salutations everyone,
This book is the culmination of many years of research, passion, and long nights staring into my laptop screen. I have always been a fan of a well-told story, a story with good characters, dialogue, and a little bit of humor too. This book may not be one of those, but I can only guarantee that it will be interesting.
I want to stress that this book is a work of fiction, and with great hope, the first in a long series of books that I intend to produce — all inspired by some of the greatest books and thinkers of the last millennium — books, such as the Holy Bible, Septuagint, The Dead Sea Scrolls. And writers and philosophers such as Leo Tolstoy, J. R. R. Tolkien, Dante Alighieri, John Milton, Andrzej Sapkowski, Joseph Cambell, and so many others.
A little bit about myself and why I have decided to do crowdfunding.
When I was much younger, I use to be afraid to speak in front of others because of my speech. I grew frustrated with writing and reading at a very young age. But I always loved stories, telling stories, and the occasional fib from time to time. This story grew in my mind during college, and in between classes, I devoted my time to the pursuit of gaining as much knowledge as I could, to help pave a clearer picture for the story. I read many books, more than 30 of them, to help bring a sense of clarity in the time of bringing together all this reference material. In that time, I gained an appreciation for people and writing that I did not have previously.
There is a quote that has resonated with me ever since I started this journey, by the late great Toni Morrison. "If there's a book that you want to read and it hasn't been written yet, then you must be the one to write it."
Those words have stuck with me over the years, and they still mean something to me now. I think this is a story that many people will come to enjoy; all be it; they might not understand it in the beginning. But I have great hope for this project, and I believe it is something people will come to enjoy.
I have tried to fund the publishing of the book on my own, but due to unforeseen identity theft issues, my funds were stolen right out of my bank account. I have since rectified the obstacle; however, the problem depleted all the funds that I was initially going to use to help finance this endeavor. I intend to have the book published and out on shelves no later than the Spring of 2020. All of the funds will be used exclusively for the publishing process, editing and copyrighting, and any unforeseen expenses.
A little bit about the story,
The first book follows the story of a young man, Xavier, who finds himself caught in between worlds. Where he and his friends uncover a secret plot to destroy all of creation. He and his friends must brave this strange new world, battling monsters and demons. Guided by an angel. All the while fighting to understand a secret kept from him and his family since the time of Adam. The war of good vs. evil has begun. Will Xavier rise to become the guardian that he is meant to be, or will he fall. As so many others have before him.
