NIA House Montessori School (NHM) is a grassroots, non-profit, elementary school located in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee. NIA House Montessori School has served the Nashville community for six years by making available a high-quality Montessori education for working-class families. Our mission is to maintain a racially and socio-economically diverse school community for children to explore their curiosities, become independent thinkers, and maintain the joy that comes from learning. 


NIA House Montessori is hoping to expand its educational impact globally. In conjunction with Nobles’ Montessori school located in Accra Ghana, NHM will have the opportunity to serve, learn, and collaborate with the Montessori educators at Nobles’ Montessori. Nobles’ Montessori school was established in 2015 with the mission to instill a lifetime love of learning and noble character in a Montessori environment. Nobles’ goal is to provide an authentic Montessori learning environment for the children of Accra. 

 

This relationship is based on shared learning experiences as African Montessorians from two different continents. While the Montessori method and curriculum are generally consistent throughout the world, the impact of the methodology on communities varies from culture to culture. This shared service-learning experience is designed to make available the experience and expertise of NHM administrators to aid in Nobles’ growth and program development.
