Christopher Flagg fights Aplastic Anemia

Donation protected
Christopher Flagg is in the battle of his life and he needs your help. Christopher is 19 years young. He has been diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia which is a rare disease. He went from feeling increasingly tired over a week to 8 days at a local hospital and then transferred to UC Davis Medical Center for 16 days of Immunosuppressive Therapy.  This included a cocktail of medication to kill off his T-Cells and is now on medications to get his bone marrow working again. One of the medications is approximately $26,000 per month before insurance.  Due to this medication, his liver is having issues and as a result has stopped the medication until the liver recovers.  He is having to get red blood cell and platelet transfusions several times a week.  To top it off, he has a low immune system and not going to the hospital for a transfusion is not an option. This is even more of a concern due the viruses that are currently circulating. If these treatments do not work, he may need a bone marrow transplant.

Christopher is an Eagle Scout and he has completed hundreds of hours on improving his community and helping people. He was involved in music in high school and loves playing in his own band. Christopher enjoys volunteering in his mother’s kindergarten class and the kids love it when he is there. They call him Mr. Chris.

Christopher’s mother, Holly, has been a teacher for the last 25 years teaching 7th and 8th grades for twenty years and kindergarten for five years. She has done many hours of volunteering at the local high school and has always been there for all of her students over the years.  She has been known to visit hospitals when one of her “kids” was admitted. (Chris would come along for support).  She has bought supplies for her students that are in need and she has spent many hours giving any help to people she sees need her.

We are several mothers and friends of Holly. She has been there for so many children including ours and we, with your help, would like to support her and her family in this tremendous time of need.  The Flagg family desperately needs our help.  They are receiving many medical bills already.  Some of the specialists Christopher has seen are not covered by insurance.  Please find it in your heart to help The Flagg Family through this tough time.

Please note that any money donated that is not used by the Flagg family for this tragedy, will be donated to the Cancer Treatment Center that Christopher was housed in during his stay at UC Davis Medical Center.

This campaign has been started by friends but is being ran by North Cow Creek School Education Foundation.
